Did anyone work at the new Woolworths in New Street when it opened around 1962 ? I worked in the cafeteria on Saturdays and remember the fights in the afternoons after the Locarno's Saturday midday dance session and everyone came into the cafe - mods on one side and rockers on the other. My shift was from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm and had to eat my lunch at 10am before the full time staff had theirs, and the lunch crowds started to pour in. Hi all, I am looking to obtain via email if possible, a detailed street plan of Birmingham city centre particularly including the Gun Quarter from the 1800's.
